Subasic primed to win Golden Glove
Danijel Subasic has been the best goalkeeper at World Cup according to former Croatia international Joey Didulica.
Subasic helped Croatia reach the finals after pulling heroic saves against Russia in the quart-finals and Denmark in the last 16. The 33-year-old will surely be the main man when they face France in the finals on Sunday in Moscow.
Didulica was part of the Croatia team in the 2006 World Cup in Germany and made four appearances. He believes Subsic deserves the Golden Glove.
"He's brought home the win in a few games and if you look around, the keepers that have done that, I think [Denmark goalkeeper Kasper] Schmeichel had done that. But I think Subasic now getting into the final would be definitely the best keeper of the tournament in my opinion," he told Omnisport.
Didulica feels confident going into a probable shootout against France in the finals because Subasic is such an outstanding presence.
"He's been outstanding. He's such a presence, isn't he? I actually feel confident going into a penalty shoot-out. He's got a presence. Once again you see how loved he is as well by all the boys there and he's a leader. You can see it through his goalkeeping, on and off the park." he said.
Croatia booked their first ever World Cup final slots after beating England 2-1 in the semi-finals.
