Liverpool ace determined to stay
Daniel Sturridge is determined to stay at Liverpool and fight for his place in Jurgen Klopp's team "week in, week out".
The England international was loaned to West Brom for the second half of the season in a bid to recapture his form. However, he struggled in Baggies' shirt, failing to find the net in the first six appearances and again suffered a hamstring injury while at the Hawthorns. The forward says pre-season is going to plan and he hopes to force his way back to Klopp's plans.
"I see myself staying at Liverpool, hopefully being part of the team week in, week out," he told the club's website.
"Pre-season is going well, so for me, it's keeping my head down and building on that. I'm excited about the season ahead and it feels great to be back."
The 28-year-old has struggled with injuries since his move from Chelsea in 2013. In the season 2013/14, he played alongside Raheem Sterling and Luis Suarez where he managed to net 21 goals in 29 league appearances. Sturridge, who scored a brace in Liverpool's 7-0 win over Chester on July 7th feels in good shape ahead of the pre-season International Champions Cup tournament.
